Why did you decide to work with me, a creative business coach?   All of what you do SPEAKS to me. Your authentic-nessitivity, great energy, and real-talk is totally up my alley, and whilst I knew that I couldve spent the next few months wondering some more whether I should do this or that, I also knew that I wouldve had no shortage of ideas and might still end up stuck in analysis paralysis. So, I decided I needed a coach (YOU!) to guide the way and get me on track (because accountability is SO important, right?). What were you doing work-wise when we started working together and what are you doing now? I was working part-time as a receptionist, doing casual work as a research assistant, and freelance editing. I realised how important it was for me to have the energy and space to give to my business, so I looked at these three and decided to cull all but the best-paying one (casual research work). The people-pleaser in me was *so* scared to do this, but its made a HUGE difference to my time and energy availability without putting me in financial doo-doo. And all the aspects that I enjoyed from the other two jobslike client interactions and working with wordsI get to do in my own business, so I dont even have to miss out on the best bits! What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? FOLLOW THE SCARY/EXCITING. Wow, I couldve been chasing my tail for years had I not learnt the Big Thing in practice. It was SO amazing to get the support and tools necessary to learn how to really implement this for myselfhow to overcome that part of you that wants to keep you where you are, where youre stuck at. Think of someone who is currently in the shoes you wore when we first started working together. What advice do you have for her?   As someone whos been working at an accounting firm and has post-grad studies in the subject tootrack yo money from DAY ONE. But who am I kidding?! My personal experience alone is reason enough to preach this! If you find yourself buying e-product after e-product, course after course, with the ol itll be useful for my business one day (HELLOOOGUILTY!)these things will soon add up, and you could instead be spending that dosh on a quality investment that provides you with the support and knowledge that you can *actually* immediately benefit from i.e Discover Your Dream Business. Invest in education that is relevant to you NOW, not what will be useful some day. Is there anything thats been a game-changer for you when it comes to your business that you can share? Wed love a good resource or a mindset/productivity tip! I used to get to caught up in whether my business would be enough. But you can reframe it: the sooner your offer is out there, the sooner people get to take you up on your offer to help them! Moving the focus away from me and my limiting self-beliefs, towards this idea of responsibility that I have to offer my gifts to others helps me take action, even when I dont feel like it.
